Hannah Devries, Instructor
Hannah's yoga practice began at the age of 13, when she was diagnosed with Scoliosis. Pushing herself to become a more active teenager, she chose spinal fusion surgery. After months of healing she discovered that Yoga and Physiotherapy were helping her outgrow her stiffness and stress in her spine the most. It was remarkable how much strength yoga began to award her with, physically and mentally. After months of yoga, her spine was suddenly painless.
Hannah also struggled with anxiety and when she graduated from high school she felt lost, and unlike herself. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life and felt overwhelmed as though it had to be decided now. Through her yoga practice she became aware that mindfulness and being in the present had given her the strength and confidence she had within. These gifts gave her the courage to teach yoga, and make her favourite past time into an every day career for herself. Ever since, she has been following her heart first, even when it scares her the most.
Hannah's brings- self love, compassion, acceptance, humour mixed with challenge in her classes at Haven. If you come to her class she will encourage you to smile in whichever asana posture you least want to! The more often we smile, the happier our soul's are going to feel! Love and Namasté -Hannah
