Self-care, Compassion & Suffering
Sometimes in the hustle of life we forget to slow things down and make our wellness a priority. We allow and create beliefs and excuses to stand in our way of a healthier life, our self-care takes a backseat as if we believe we deserve to suffer; creating a home for illness, stress, anxiety and pain to grow in our bodies. This acceptance of pain makes us become numb as we shut down in fight or flight snowballing into not noticing the warning signs of our core crying out for help.
It is at this moment our self-compassion needs to kick in. We need to be kinder to ourselves, check-in and re-evaluate our paths and question if they are intentionally lead or if we are robots in our own lives. We have to make sure that in our actions we are putting our self-care on the weekly to do list, being kind when we fail, letting go of things that no longer serve us and opening ourselves up to the possibility that we are more than what we know.
Have you ever really thought about if you truly loved yourself? Do you practice self-care regularly like going to yoga, having a massage, going outside for a walk in nature, having a hot bath, doing some breathing exercises or having some quite time via meditation. If your mind, body & soul are not connected we start to feel unbalanced, almost like your tripping over your feet. Remember not everyone is going to love you like you should, so don’t take a backseat in your life. Change never happens unless we try so we challenge you to try.
Make a plan for next week, add one thing to feed your soul. Here are few ideas to get you started.
