With Mother's day around the corner, it made us think about how many moms make time for themselves. When we become a mom, some of us feel like our lives get turned upside down. It is important to remember that we create our own experiences. That if we want a more balanced life we need to find out what could get us there and make it happen. For many of us, attending a yoga class has provided that clarity. Making time for self-care is the most crucial step to reduce stress and help you feel grounded. Have you ever had a day where you thought to yourself where did the week go? It happens, we are human. Kids grow up so fast, because our lives are so busy when we are always on the go. Slowing down and making time to focus on what matters most is key. No matter what stage of motherhood we are in there is always an opportunity to create a life we have always wanted. If you don't do it for yourself do it for your kids. Often our children become mini versions of ourselves, good and bad. What if we showed them the best version of ourselves?
How can you create a calming mindful life amongst the chaos? Taking a moment to reflect is a great way to find this. Often many of us find this space and ourselves again on the yoga mat. If you are lucky enough to find a studio that is your sanctuary, go often. The art of allowing yourself to be vulnerable is a gift. What if this haven also gave you the opportunity to feel nurtured, loved and safe? These are the things that we as moms give out on a daily basis but sometimes don't get back in return. You can start to feel drained, so you need to refuel. What does that look like to you?

Mom groups in Abbotsford
If you're pregnant, nursing, or if you have kids in school, having a support network can ease stress and anxiety. A group of mamas raising each other up is a beautiful thing. Find your tribe, what you put out will come back, it is the way of the universe. A gathering of new mommas doing yoga or not, is an essential passage to motherhood. This support is great because you are most likely experiencing the same things. With hormones high and a new body that has seen the miracle of life we sometimes need all the help we can get. Can I get an amen sister! To top it off most of us never take the time to recover as we are caring for these beautiful babies. This can go on for years. Stop and smell the tulips, get on a mat, go for a walk outside, eat lunch, have a glass of... water?
Prenatal Yoga with Kathy
Many of us go to yoga to help balance our bodies, and it is the same when you are pregnant. Our prenatal yoga class welcomes beginners and provides a nurturing yogi environment. You might not be “out” to the rest of the world, so having a safe place to talk about what you are experiencing is excellent. This class creates a bond by going every week and building a support network. Through guided yoga postures and breath, you will prepare your body and mind for birthing. All poses already have modifications so you can flow through class with ease. Making adjustments will relieve your body's discomfort and stress associated with pregnancy. One of the fun perks of this is that there will be women at many stages, all doing yoga side-by-side. It is a beautiful community and one you only get to be a part of for a short while. Note: When you are pregnant, even before you show, you can still take your regular yoga classes. Tell your teacher so they can recommend modifications to some yoga poses. Always check with your doctor before you begin.
Postnatal Yoga with Rebecca
Our postnatal yoga classes help women regain strength and energy lost during pregnancy. Connect with your old body under new circumstances. Moms are welcome to bring their babies too! This class is ideal for babies ages six weeks to 1 year. It's ok if your baby cries, feed them, comfort them, change them, this is fine and normal! Don't worry you will not disrupt the class. Be assured that this is okay and you need to do whatever is best for you and your baby. When possible, the teacher will hold your little one so you can do some yoga!
